Brookline Mansion Fireplace Update
Brookline Mansion - The owners wanted to make the the fireplace the main architectural focus of the room to accent their art collection. Already surrounded by the original carved mahogany mantle and wainscot paneling, the brick facade needed to be more ornate to achieve that goal. The homeowners chose an Ann Sacks Tile crafted by fusing 24K gold between sheets of hand made glass.

After carefully protecting the newly finished hardwood flooring, I applied and anti-fracture membrane to the brick facade. The membrane acts as a base for the tile adhesive.
Layout and measurement are key elements in precision tile work. The only cut tiles on the fireplace are on the outside edge.
